Sorry, I was caught up! Ok this is becoming tough... You need to debug this a little more so keep patience.
try this... after reading sms, instead of comparing it, can you send it to serial port? or to LCD directly. I would suggest serial port as its much easier.
Second method, If you have Proteus simulator installed in machine. then connect modem to PC and in proteus schematic connect COMPIM to 8051 controller. then debug in keil directly and see whats there in the buffer so you know what to compare with directly. Hope you my point what to do..
