you have to consider cooling too when doing overclocking. core voltage increases with increasing speed.

Yes guys I have overclocked my PC! One time too many

Ajay...increasing your processor speed does not increase it's core voltage but you will get more heat dissipation that's why additional cooling is required. The core voltage is increased seperately to make your overclock more stable. Tampering with the core voltage is what damages your processor if it's too high. There are many reasons for overclocking. Some do it for fun and others to get the best out of their rig with minimal costs.

I have overclocked my PC using the FSB settings in the BIOS but have not touched my core voltage. The first thing you need to do is to research the overclocking potential of your hardware by finding out the results of others. You can do this by googling your device model (processor, motherboard etc) with the word "overclock". Once you know how far you can expect to go, you increase figures in small steps and then run some stability tests to make sure that your overclock is stable.

It's just a suggestion -> I think it would be better if you open up a new section for "overclocking" under the "computer" forum so that it won't clutter the other "hardware" and "software" discussions.
