Hi all!
I was looking at the datasheet of the 8755 chip and i still cant understand how this chip works and what his main purpose in a circuit with a 8031 microcontroller.
I would be Thankful if somebody could help to understand it.
p.s
here's the data sheet: http://www.datasheet.in/download.php?id=45789

If you click on datasheet..
you will see this
"16/384-BIT EPROM WITH I/O"
It got 2K eeprom + 2 ports
8031 does not have internal rom so external ROM is needed for storing program.

yeah i understood his architecture on the outside but how can i program the ports as inputs or outputs?
Thanks in advance!

go through datasheet once.. you will come to know.. If you still need help, Simply post..
But please go through datasheet carefully

Thanks for the help!
I had read the data shit again and figure out that i need to program the ddr registers of ports a and b as inputs or outputs by giving them "0" as inputs and "1" as outputs but i came across a major problem...
I need to connect the 8755 chip to a zif socket as inputs and to connect to 8031 as outputs so the 8755 should be in the middle between the socket and the 8031.
so my big question is how i manage to program those ports a and b of the 8755 so that 8031 will check the component that connects on the zif socket?
Thanks!
