Hi. I'm doing a project on controlling mobile phone from 8051 uC.

I'm using W550 mobile phone which do support AT commands. But its data cable is of USB type.

The pin configuration of USB are:

Pin1: VCC should go to VCC of 8051
Pin 2: Data + should go to RxD?
Pin 3: Data - should go to TxD?
Pin 4: GND should be connected to ground

I'm giving these 4 connections direct to controller.
Am i right? OR I'm doing something wrong in connections to microcontroller?
Is Max 232 really needed for 8051 for USB too coz its already 5V....

I've made a simple prog just to check out whether it works or not but it didn't.....
The prog is written correctly but do respond as what to do with it......

Thanks!!!

Hi,

Simple 8051 doesn't USB Support.Only UART Available there.

So your Connections are wrong
It's My Suggestions:

1) Try to Interface your Moblie and Serial Cable RS-232
2) Use PC's Hyperterminal to Test AT COMMANDS
3) Then Start to write Code is uC which ever you want.

Man u wanna say that i should look for a usb to serial converter right???
then connect that serial to RS232?

Or if I say that I may take connections from mobile directly from its jack. So will it solve my problem without using RS232???

Thanks

no he said you have to look for a phone with serial data cable.

I would suggest using a GSM modem, which has more capabilities than your phone

OR

How to interface these four wires of USB to RS232?

Thanks...
