i2c memory interface

which EEPROM is better ATMELs or PHILIPS
where can i get necessary documents/codes to get started to interface one such memory to the 51 micro controllers??
any suggestions wud be appreciated.!!!!!

Atmel EEPROMs are used mostly, i have never used Philips one, but i am sure there wont be much difference in them. You can also get Microchip's I2C EEPROMs in market all are same mostly. You can get more information about them in their datasheets.
