a simple transistor, Potentiometer, LDR and a relay would solve the problem. no need of microcontroller.
google for "twilight" or "dusk to dawn light"

if u really want to make it complicated , first think of some enhancements u can add or ur project supervisor/examiner will easily see through the ploy.

nice. u can also connect a battery which will get charged from the panel when there is sufficient daylight.
firstly, it is always a good practice to build a rough block diagram on the various input output peripherals to be connected to the uC before starting on the actual schematic.

I hate to be negative,
but using a solar panel on a mains powered lamp
may not earn you any marks.
I think you need a more challenging project.
