Intelligent Cannon

As my final year project, I've decided my topic as "Intelligent Ballistic Launcher"

Actually it is a machine which can fire its bullet exactly at the parameters given, by controlling angle of azimuth and angle of elevation. User is entering the horizontal angle and distance, rest of the things will be compted by the controller.

Another idea is, using triangulation method for distance measurement, using two laser pointers. So the user will not have to measure the target's distance.

I need some suggestions, please, though whole idea is clear to me, I wanna make it better.
