89s51 usb programmer

Thanks for reply & suggestion.As you say i try to get driver of USB to serial dongle.
Now i have 89s51 micrcontroller programmer kit in which parallel port for programmer & serial for communication. i want to used this serial port with usb to serial dongle.
So as i think there is some software required for in pc for USB communication.
Can you tell me which is required for that?
Can you send me any related link for that?

i hope u will get a drivers cd with ur usb dongle .....
if not then u can download one from internet try googling usb to serial driver for ur os and choose the closest match to ur dongle...

I have only Dynamode usb to serial(RS-232) dongle.I have not cd of driver.
I get driver of that dongle from internet (from dynamode site) early.But it can not run properly.It cannot find any hardware.

ask the dealer from where you got that dongle. You must get drivers with it. otherwise dongle is of no use...! contact the person from whom you bought it.

I installed it in my pc.
But it cannot saw any virtual port address .
I see in device manager.

can you give an expanded view of your device manager? take a screenshot..

open ur hyperterminal n see if some additional com port appears...........
recheck by retreating the dongle..........

Its really a simple question for u i know but u clearly tell me what is DONGLE.? I tried to find the meaning in Wikepedia but i coldn't understand clearly.

I installed driver for usb to serial dongle from CD.I saw screen shot which i get. In which it detect the USB to serial cable.But it did not saw any virtual port address for communication.

Here screenshot:

open hyperterminal..
select com5
short pins 2 & 3 of the dongle.....
press any key on keyboard and see if it is echoed on the terminal........
