well i am an ECE student i have experience in carpentry, and i have done research on cnc machines for more than 3 months now i am becoming clear of it but i guess i can do it sir

thats good if u have experience of CNC machines that will help you a lot....
i am agree this project will take long time.....but be patient and passionate
did u select motors?? which servo you will use for three axis movement???
which motor u will use for spindle movement mean that will work as drill.... will use D.C motor with PWM drive ??? did u select any thing or collect any data regarding this... ?

yeah i am very very passionate about it
yeah i have selected the motors but i am not doing it on servos i will be doing it using bipolar steppper motors of 1.8 degree step angle which looks almost like this
its from japan servo co ltd
For spindle motor i will select it after completing whole CNC and testing it by just drawing a 2d diagram yes i will include PWM drive it would be nice
i am just worried about the backlash problem what do you suggest for it which method should i do

i don't think you need motor like this for axis movement!!! why are u using this high power motor ?? you can use simple stepper structure using two small motors see this..

Ya i have seen them but the one i am working on is this big
cause i am thinking of using it to engrave big boards and wood carvings etc so motors require more power but i am not getting good threaded screws and bolts, also i am not able to solve the backlash error completely i require guidance on it

As you know from your research, backlash and general accuracy is mainly down
to the quality of the screw drives and rigidity of the framework.
I don't see why steppers should give extra backlash, just use as fine a step angle as possible.

no sir i am not saying stepper motors problem but without assembling the threaded rod i can observe considerable backlash i just want tips on how to reduce them what type material is good as it is my first time

there are two methods of removing backlash software based and hardware design based like Preloading...
