Fan Speed Control using 8051

Hi,

I am wondering if I am using 120vac instead of 220vac. How to I choose the TRIAC, what model I should use?

Triac usually work on a range of voltage not specific for 220 volt or 120 volt....... see data sheet of triac there you can see it is operating voltage range....

Does feedback system is necessary for zero cross detector or can i use built in zero cross detector MOC like MOC 3041. for speed variation of FAN.
