Modern general purpose opamp suggestions

Hi,

I've been studying the uA741 opamp extensively and I would like to know if there are any modern general purpose opamps in the market?

I've done some research but there are far too many to decide.

Any suggestions for purchase?

Hi,

I'm not application specific. I'm looking for a general purpose opamp.
I'm planning on building very basic wave shaping, forming and other small signal processing circuits.
And maybe a few small signal amplifiers and oscillators.

Companies like Texas Instruments, Analog devices, etc. have a lot of new ones but I really don't know which ones to pick.

try lm324 is a good op amp and also a comparator. is for multiperpose
