TI,NI,AD,Coilcraft,Maxim still ship free.
A Softhome.net account works...no company email-id (strictly) required.
OnSemi(Motorola) charges $20 for shipping,Microchip stopped shipping to India long back.

Maxim's Business managers Ms.Diana Rocha and Mr.Leslie Mendoza don't approve samples unless Company website or email_id is furnished ( just try it out in case you don't believe me !)
Atmel asks 101 questions to send 1 or 2 samples (their distributor spectra systems/arrow sends field officers for verification)
NXP doesn't register clients with generic domain ids
the companies have become real smart these days and its tough to fool them.

Sad...
They're going down one by one.
Did you try with a generic id or a company one?
If generic,I would suggest a softhome account.The yahoos,gmails and rediffs don't work.
Like I mentioned I got plenty of samples through a softhome account, where the generics were all rejected.
Haven't tried in the past year though, except a couple of usb codecs from TI...the best sampler. :-)
