Nice, but very complex. Non-engineers can do the same thing using a pre-built CAN dongle and easier code. Look at
ECOM dongle for a CAN device that uses an 8051 as its core, but already has a programming interface for PCs.
Every major microcontroller manufacturer also provides many CAN examples for driving steppers and such based on reference designs. How long does it take to get all this working?
