Hello Every Body

i am new on this forum,i'm in my final year comm. engineering my graduation project is SMS

REMOTE CONTROL i've read here that the best mobile and recommended fo AT Command

Is ericsson T290i and i've bought this Mobile with the cable but when i connect it to

hyperterminal and write any command it doesn't respond me any thing and it's writing in a

very slow mode i think that the mobile is not connected or doesn't support AT Command so

plz if any one can help me to use this mobile with in hyperterminal and AT Command just

tell me if there is a missing step in configuring the mobile to use hyperterminal with it.

The T290i does support AT and will at least give the OK response.

I think the normal interface cable uses a usb port, if so,
check that Hyperterminal is using the right port number,
IE not com1 or com2

check that Hyperterminal is set to the right baud rate.

Yes that's normal, your PC has no way of knowing the phone is connected.
The baud rate is either 115,200 or 9600 and I'm pretty sure it's 9600.

There is one complication using this kind of serial cable.
It needs to draw power from the serial port.

It gets that power from control signals not needed by the link.
You need to set signals such as CTS and DSR.
Unfortunately I can't be sure which signals in your case,
or whether they are set "High" or 'Low"

Setting Hyperterminal to use hardware flow control may work.

Can you get any info about your cable ?

This type of cable is just two connectors with a max232 type level converter.
If you get really stuck you can make your own.

Have a look through the threads in the "Embedded GSM" forum.
This is a common topic, with several diagrams showing how to connect
mobile phones to PCs.

Many use MAX232 type chips to convert the 3volts at the phone
to the + and - voltages used by the PC.

There are other methods.

I looked but i found nothing about self made Cables plz i want urgent help if u have diagrams or fast links that shows me the components of the cables and how can i connect them together please tell me.

or if u know another mobile and u r sure that it works With AT Command Iwanna u to suggest it to me please if there is no solution with T290i.

There may not be an item exactly about making a cable, but the information is around
for you to put it together yourself.

There are many diagrams showing the use of the MAX232 to interface micros etc to a PC.
Most give the connections on the PC serial port side, TX, RX and ground.

The connections for the T290 are the same as many Ericssons, such as the T68.
and are on the web, again TX, RX and ground.

This link shows a possible circuit board to use, although you can use veroboard.
http://www.8051projects.net/forum-t20369-last.html

Phone connectors are less common, you may need to use the one on your current cable.
I suggest you keep trying to make it work, it should do.

is the max circuit or a cable like Rs232

sorry if it is a silly question, becauze am a little bit cinfused and am not expert in microcontroller.

i wanna know another think also do u know anu information about controlling the devices using Fbus and Mbus from nokia mobile phone coz i think it's impossible to work with AT COmmand .
finally i approtiate your help and thank you.:-)
