Are you running it from a DOS box ?

If you do the proper failure is

Program to calculate the hex value to light up an 7 SEG display
- Veeresh
Press any key to continue
BGI Error: Graphics not initialized (use 'initgraph')

I am running win7 32 bit. do you think it could be an issue?

@ajay : well the program was written using Turbo-C for DOS which is a 16-bit compiler... compiling it on a 32-bit platform should not cause any problems i guess... coz i have done it sometimes too and it worked fine.

not sure if win7 supports DOS( im sure vista doesnt ).

i have modified the earlier source code to enable autodetection of the adapter(in a different way) and im attaching the code now... let me know if it works out..as i do not have Visual C++ compiler installed in my system.

I can't compile your program in Visual C because Microsoft don't supply
Graphics.h any more.

Getting a graphics program written Turbo-C for DOS
to run in Windows is likely to be difficult.

What operating system are you running ?

@ExperimenterUK : thats bad... i compiled it on a turbo C compiler...

for the second part i dont agree as i am running the program in XP environment and it works... it will work in a 32-bit environment too but the OS should support 16-bit apps. thats all...like if you are running vista it wont work coz vista doesnt support 16-bit apps.

download link for the turboC compiler : http://rapidshare.com/files/429295667/TURBOC.zip

unzip contents to C:\ drive

goto WIN+RUN ---> cmd ---> goto c:\turboc --> type tc.exe a turbo c ide window will open.

load the .c file here(F3) and then run it using the CTRL + F9 command.

and it seems to me that i will have to learn visual C or visual basic soon...
