sorry to trouble you guys again. I wan to know how to use hyperterminal to send data through serial port. Because I want to test whether my serial communcation coding for microcontroller works or not.
Thanks!
Thanks!

go to Start->all programs-> Accessories -> communication -> hyper terminal
then follow instructions to create new connection, use COM port when selecting connection. use baudrate settings on default of use as follows:
Baud: 9600
Data: 8-bit
Parity: none
Stop Bit: 1
if you feel any problem then please ask.

ya i did that and i also go to file > properties > setting tab > ASCII setup
Then i checked on echo type characters locally.
Like that when i type an "a", then i show 2 "a". Like that means ok right?
Then if I want to pass value, I type on the hyperterminal or must use file to send?
Thanks!

its better if you can check it yourself first and if you are getting errors then tell me. also if your program is behaving unexpectedly. Still if you want us to check then paste the code here.

ok i will give the result on this coming wednesday. Oh ya if I use hyperterminal to send a text file, will the microcontroller read the file? or how will it react?

no controller cannot read file directly, sending a file follows a protocol ex. Xmodem, which controller need to take care. if you can implement that protocol on controller then YES you can read file
